Over the years we here at Voxunion have attempted to help unearth, excavate and remind of the Dr. King who actually lived as opposed to the one recreated by his (our) enemies.  So on this, yet another anniversary of his birth, we re-post some of our discussion of the many subsequent media assassinations of the man and his politics.  His last book Where Do We Go From Here? Chaos or Community? has recently been re-released in which King’s genuine ideas and strategies are laid out and all of which remain almost shockingly relevant today – a time when we are said to becoming an actual “apartheid” state.  As his widow Corette Scott King wrote in a previous edition King “piercingly revealed the cause of our national discord, placing it squarely on the ingrained racism of American society.”   Add to that the militarism, capitalism and liberalism that King also, and equally piercingly, addressed and the threat he posed as identified by the FBI’s COINTELPRO and these dates (January 15/April 4) take on new meaning.
