This week we saw the return of The First (and last?) Annual Super Funky Soul Power Hour- 12/21/12 Mayan Calendar-End of Community Radio-Winter Solstice-Family Radio Rapture-Tupcalapyse Now Hate Award Show! with Part 2! This week we expanded the in-studio “barbershop” Hate Award Committee with Drs. Carr, Sims and Swan joining Ball, Burroughs and Hate with special guest Tom Porter for a look at this year’s nominees and winners and all certainly adhered to the two guiding principles of Hate: 1) Everyone can get it (even members of our committee!) and 2) Hate harder!

My Hate Award Category: [Racist] Impersonating a tennis great / champion / legend award- goes to Caroline Wozniaci for impersonating Serena in everything but black-face at a exhibition tournament in Brazil during the 1st – 2nd week of Dec 2012.
This story didn’t get more play due to the Belcher murder suicide tragedy & the the Newtown school massacre [see: 'Wozniacki draws heat for her Serena imitation' @ Examiner.com Dec 11 & Wozniacki’s ‘Hilarious’ Serena Impression @ YahooSports.com Dec 9]. In a match w Maria Sharapova, Wozniaci came on court w her bra & panties stuffed full of rags to give her a fuller figure- ala Serena. Of course many whites IE: Yahoo Sports thought it was hilarious }‘Fun-loving’ Caroline Wozniacki made Serena Williams the ‘Butt’ of her joke at an exhibition match in Sao Paulo.{[Note Serena wasn't even there]
I always thought Wozniaci was over-hyped & over-ranked [How the hell did the WTA rank her No.1 for nearly 1.5 yrs yet out of 6 chances during that time, She Did NOT & Has NOT Yet Won 1 MAJOR], but I did NOT have a particular Dislike for her- UNTIL NOW!
So now I’ll go out on a limb & make a Bold prediction: Wozniaci will likely NEVER be in the same [tennis] class as even a Maria Sharapova or a Kim Kjisters… But the only way she’ll ever be in the same class as a tennis player as Venus & Serena- IS IN HER WET-DREAMS!!!
We’ll see who’s the ‘Butt of the Joke’ as Serena Continues to Spank that FLAT Wozniaci ASS!!!

Yeah I had seen that but didn’t care much because she couldn’t emulate talent or natural shapeliness. However; I kinda cared less when Serena & Snowflake showed up.

IMO These white ‘liberal’ Holly-weird icons IE: {San}Quenton Tarantino ['Django'], Steven Spielberg ['Lincoln'], Kathry Bigelow ['0-Dark-30']- have shown hypocrical double-speak when they’ve been called to task about their Holly-weird Hyped so-called ‘epic’ movies.
Bigelow sold her movie, which hypes ‘extreme interrogation techniques [= TORTURE] as essential for hunting down the ‘Phantom Menace’ Bin Laden ‘Legend’, as based on real factual events. But when she was called to task for the [CIA type] hype that torture was/is a reliable way to ‘extract’ sound intel- has been TOTALLY Debunked & is Completely FALSE- She then used the ‘artistic license’ excuse. Hey Ms Bigelow You can NOT have it both ways, either your movie is a realistic portrayal of true events- OR IT AIN’T- PERIOD.
When Spielberg was called to task RE his ‘epic’ movie’s, “Lincoln”, failure to portray NOT EVEN ONE Significant Black Abolitionist / Freedom-Fighter / Soldier of the Civil War era’s fight to end slavery, He said that his movie focused on the political Maneuvering RE that issue- As if the Civil War & Abolitionist movement were NOT a{THEE} major factor(s) in that political equation. Furthermore it’s my understanding that he & his script-writter went w the ‘final’ script when it managed to actually write Fredrick Douglass out it!!!
So now QT comes w ‘Django’ On one hand he hypes it as a statement about the horrors of slavery which has been largely forgotten in so-called ‘post-racial’ USA. -BUT- Then when called to task about how his film seems to turn much of slavery’s brutality into some kind of JOKE, He then says his movie is really just a spaghetti-western / black-xplotation film w slavery as its back drop- NOT a serious statement RE slavery. SO which is it QT? An important statement RE slavery’s brutality or just a spaghetti-western / black-xplotation film???
Samuel Jackson’s role as THEE House-Negro. The fact that QT had Jackson, who’s dark-brown skinned, in shoe-polish make-up IMO says a lot. It’s my understanding that on plantations lighter-skinned [mulatto] slaves [especially males] were generally used as Big-House type Negroes. Field slaves were generally darker. Thus if anything QT should have had Sam-Jack wearing skin-lightening make-up for authenticity. Cause just as most whites feel more comfortable around an Obama / Ben Jealous type than a Marcus Garvey, fred Hampton or Kwame Toure’…A Manny Marable rather than a Malcolm X. And most whites hype the beauty of a Halle, Sade’ or Alicia Keys over that of a Venus & Serena [all are lovely looking sisters but Venus & Serena have more classically African features - though Sade' is 1/2 Nigerian]- The ‘Roots’ of this trend of lighter more mixed Negroes being hyped is more attractive & ‘cultured’ goes back to slavery. So much for QT’s notion RE “Django’s” authenticity!
@ CounterPunch Michael Donnelly gave ‘Django’ a rave review. But IMO more troublesome was his take on Spike Lee’s statement that he was NOT going to see ‘Django’ because slavery was NOT a humorous spaghetti-western / black-xplotation film & felt that such a take is disrespectful to his / our ancestors.
Donnelly’s response: ‘I can only conclude that Spike is either a woeful, jealous film critic or a RACIST. The only “disrespect” here is Lee attacking another Director’s work without even seeing it…’
IMO beware of whites no matter if they call themselves so-called ‘conservative’ or ‘liberal’, who so loosely call any Black person a racist.

More RE Michael Donnelly rave ‘Django review & ‘Playing the Racist-Card’ on Spike Lee. Donnelly RE Django: ‘It’s the most important film so far on American Slavery…’ even surpassing ‘Roots’ [I Seriously DOUBT IT. IMO The best movies I've seen on slavery are in order of my recommendation: 'Sankofa', 'Roots', 'A Woman Called Moses', 'Amistad]‘. Yet he Calls his review of ‘Django’- ‘Tarantino’s American Love Story’ which implies that at its core it really ain’t a movie about slavery [also @ CounterPunch see Cecil Brown's 'Django' review called 'Hollywood's Nigger Joke'].
That Donnelly feels he can so loosely label Spike a RACIST RE QT’s film pisses me off! ‘Django’ is {San}Quenton’s 3rd [that I can recall] film featuring a largely/mainly Black cast, the other 2 were ‘Pulp Fiction’ & ‘Jackie Brown’ [Sam-Jack is featured prominently in all 3]. Yet Donnelly excuses QT’s ‘liberal’ use of the N-word in ‘Django’ while labeling Spike a ‘RACIST’ for refusing to see it- HUMM…
So Mr Donnelly how many Spike Lee movies has he repeatedly & incessantly referred to white people as honky, red-neck, cracker, etc??? If QT did 3 prominent movies where the dialogue incessantly referred to LGBT folks as Faggots or even Homos & Sissies -or- constantly referred to Jews by some derogatory name(s), I seriously doubt that Donnelly would be so apt to make excuses for QT while calling a prominent Jewish &/or pro-LGBT critic a hater for calling him out on it!!!
Hell- Mel Gibson caught flack from pro-LGBT critics for his classic epic ‘Brave-Heart’ when he did NOT even use the word ‘fag’ nor even sissy or homo at-all in his movie! And his pro-LGBT critics did NOT get called ‘haters’ – It Was Gibson who got labeled ‘Homo-Phobic’ & later even ‘Anti-Semitic’- for his ‘Passion of the Christ’ movie!

No, I am serious… this is edifying, a truer catharsis than any damn Django, entertainment and truth telling brought together in a way unseen in today’s media. Whatever may be the problem with WPFW, they struck it correct with your show Dr. Ball.
Also, on a side note: Why in the HELL is your Django post still gaining comments when your more pertinent in both serious and comedic commentaries have only one or two or nine people speaking on them? That is bullshit and the people still giving thought to that foolish movie deserves a Hate Award.
