Known mostly as a forced concubine of Osama bin-Laden Kola Boof is a poet and author who joined us this morning for a discussion of her work and the struggles toward pan-African unity. Senfo Tonkam was back with us to also discuss these and related issues but also to share his experience as a politically-exiled African from Cameroon (a name he properly defines and challenges). Dr. Mark Bolden was also in the building this morning for what was a powerful and excited discussion.

Powerful…
Good show. I would just like to add a mention from a past broadcast referring back to Franz Fanon and “Pan-Africanism” or “Universal African Thought”; the use of brutal violence often unspoken or unseen against ‘African’s” – women especially – at the hands of “Arabs” not to mention the supposedly ubiquitous “European” is primarily the work of diversion.
To see the Obama family as anything other then a “trojan horse” is to no fault of the consequential observer. To cherish the image, though hollywood inspired, of a powerful “black” family is in this time revolutionary. And something to hold close. But not so close that one is unwilling to objectively define painful truths.
Is the image of “First Family” more powerful than the glossy image of a stylized, dare I say, rap video? Or a Hollywood contrived movie?
There is a great need to turn away, to detox, keeping only that which positively benefits the tribe, close at hand. But don’t buy into any contrived symbolism with either your vote or your debt note.
Indeed, Scott, Indeed!
